MKE Startup News: Neurlogix aims to modernize century-old brain drainage procedure

Featured news
August 28, 2026

When excess fluid builds up around the brain, every minute matters.

Yet the process used to drain that fluid has changed surprisingly little since it was introduced in 1934.

Wisconsin-based Neurlogix believes advances in technology can finally modernize that nearly century-old procedure with an automated system designed to improve patient safety while reducing the burden on nurses caring for critically ill patients.

The company developed Intellidrain, an automated drainage system that regulates cerebrospinal fluid drainage from the brain and spine while continuously monitoring pressure and collecting patient data.

Neurlogix is one of six Wisconsin startups selected for the inaugural gBETA Frontier Technology accelerator, a free seven-week program operated by gener8tor and supported by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
