MKE Startup News: Estrigenix reaches commercialization milestones

In 2018, Milwaukee researchers launched Estrigenix Therapeutics to commercialize a novel menopause therapy. Recently, the company has reached two milestones that position it for its next phase of development.

The biotechnology startup secured an exclusive worldwide license to its estrogen receptor beta (ERβ) platform from UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University and Concordia University Wisconsin while also closing a $2 million seed financing round led by Talents Fund I.

Together, the milestones provide the intellectual property rights and capital needed to advance the company’s lead therapeutic candidate through the preclinical studies required before seeking authorization to begin human clinical trials.
