In Business: With Realta Fusion commitment, Oscar Mayer plant owners eye tech hub
Nearly 10 years after the closing of Madison’s Oscar Mayer plant, the future of the 2 million-square-foot facility appears to be taking a technological turn, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Earlier plans for a high-density employment corridor with a mix of housing, restaurants and other businesses never came to fruition.
But following recent news that Madison-based Realta Fusion plans to open a roughly $500 million research and development facility in the former hot dog factory, the plant’s new owners envision an incubator for similar cutting-edge technologies.
