Guest speakers will be Charlie Hoslet, director of the UW-Madison Office of Corporate Relations, and Paul Pucci, manager of the WiSys Technology Foundation. They will describe how OCR and WiSys serve as pathways to business resources offered through the UW-Madison, which has a statewide mission, and other UW System campuses.

Registration can be completed online at www.wisconsintechnologycouncil.com/events/win or at the door beginning at 4:45 p.m. Networking time begins at 5 p.m. and the program at 5:30 p.m.

Hoslet will discuss the many resources at UW-Madison available to Wisconsin's business community, such as recruitment offices for hiring students, continuing education programming, technology available for licensing, and expertise in areas ranging from e-commerce to small engines to global marketing. The Office of Corporate Relations is attached directly to the UW-Madison chancellor’s office.

Pucci will discuss the resources available through WiSys, a subsidiary of the internationally known Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. Founded in 2000, WiSys facilitates “technology transfer” at UW campuses outside UW-Madison, often collaborating with local businesses and economic development authorities to bring UW System technologies and human resources into communities. It was announced Nov. 20 that WiSys has entered into an agreement with the private, non-profit Marshfield Clinic to accelerate the clinic’s tech transfer.

“There are hundreds of examples across Wisconsin where UW resources are helping to build our state’s Knowledge Economy,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Innovation Network and its parent, the Wisconsin Technology Council. “The Dec. 6 meeting in Wausau offers businesses a chance to hear how they can partner with the university – or take advantage of continuing education opportunities that are right for their businesses and employees.”

WIN has chapters in central Wisconsin (Centergy), Madison, Milwaukee, Northeast Wisconsin, the Chippewa Valley and the Lake Superior region.
